Photo fever? or CNY fever?

Yesterday was a heck of day of photo shooting... due to the few days of continuous rain and dark i stayed in and do most of the reading... Been watching out on other photographer's blog and enjoying other shutter bugs' artwork... I do think photographers are artist... Just somewhat easier if compared relatively with the painters or sculptors...

I mean take an artist, who needs time for inspiration, skills and time to draw and paint the artwork... for shutter bugs.. it's less taxing... though in a way, it's kinda hard and takes time and skills to produce a masterpiece...

Well, anyway... yesterday was a bright shining day with nice clear sky.. i had the opportunity to capture some nice photos (i think there are still room for improvement)... Here you go... (proudly presented for you from the shore of Miri City)

Thats the color i was looking for... the golden crisp... BUT... not yet the best... i stil think the angle and perspective can be improved... What u think?

Me Dad and me... as always...I like the sky colors and the wood being lit...

The skies...

The gradual changes in the sky color...

May look like the same couple.. but.. actually different...
The bride left her shoes on shore while she went to the waters to shoot... someone indicate this picture looks like someone wanted a suicide by submerging the waters.. (kekeke... )

The couples posing while the photographer shoot them...
Hey guess what? i managed to meet 2 (TWO) couples who were doing their outdoor photoshoot as well.. AND they are Canon-nites! Weeee~

That was it... the sun went down the horizon...

And as if not enough.. after dinner... i went to Miri's Chinese New Year Market at High Street... The market is our local attraction every chinese New Year a collaboration between Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry with The Miri City Council.. i must credit the City council for their effort in bringing this market in as an annual event... it really makes this city alive! It really indicate the spirit of Chinese New Year...

Not to forget the continuous performances on the main stage area to keep the public entertained... I dunno about other cities in Miri.. this market really calls in for a Big attraction for both locals and tourists!!!

Here are some photos... enjoy them...

Some new floats being placed at the entrance... woo...

It's 4 MORE days to Chinese New Year... and it's already so many people... i can't imagine the last day for the market!!!

This cute boyadmiring the chinese new year decoratives...

A MUST... the chinese symbol for gold and prosperity... "kam"

According to the owner, this is a new breed of orchid... really nice! At a first glance, it looks fake..cause it's so perfect!!! BUT at a closer look! My gosh... they are real... they smell good!

For western Culture, these are carved and displayed during Halloween, but for the chinese, this is 'Ong' means Gold and lucky!

CNY Goodies...

CNY Decorations being sold...

Cute Cute 'Chai Shen' (Deity of prosperity)

Mini Lion Dance

Commerce in process...

The Dragon Dance presented by The Miri Wushu Association...

Cutie watching the Dragon Dance

Faithful Grandpa who loves his grand daugther...

Well... Thats it for today... stay tuned... hopefully i'll be able to capture more for you all out there... Happy house Cleaning... and decorating!!! AND buying too... :P

Ushering the Oxen Year

Let there be light was God's method of creating light.. and since then, the dark was separated from the light... from that moment i believe was when things could be seen and it is the FUNDAMENTAL of photography... As Chinese New Year is striking near, the Miri market seem like a scene of people bracing for the coming of black parade rather than a a merry parade... i manage to take some photos after attending a banquet of my father's friend... Just to update the blog... Here you go...

Pictures of the Dance performers (Love her expression X-P)

Then, we went hunting for CNY Scenes~

Lanterns for New Year~

two 0 0 nine

Surely in a wink of eye, time flies again.. 2008 is already history…

Bye 2008~

Cheers to 2009!

This year, I got to get an opportunity to do the ‘countdown’ with 3 pretty gals whom I always hang out with… These are my friends since secondary.. but have met thru in kindergaten… Anyways, it’s amazing how God has placed us together…

And after the new year, it wasn’t long when the girls are back in KL studying while I remain doing house chores and pursuing my photography… Here are some flicks… enjoy them…

Went to Ulu Mulu to take some photo of the sea horse...

That's a Nice Mural design on the wall...

Red Wood (Kayu merah) used to construct the place... Solid and original!

Mum, my usual Model...

Then, i had the opportunity to visit Tanjung in the evening...

I actually wanted to visit the 'Tanjung Lobang' a cave near the cliff... but it was a high tide!!!

Since i can't go to the cave.. i ended up testing shutter speed.. and shooting the waves...

The day ended with Rain...

Then I had the 1st cell group dinner on 2nd day of 2009 with my parents’ cell of course… By the way, Shu Jun, Daniel, Feleh, Rachel and Darren, I miss you guys too!!!

Fellowship prior to dinner~

The braised pork Feet specialty from Uncle James

One for the album!

everyone preparing for the dinner

And by the way, guess what, I had the opportunity to meet KING tide this year… it’s terrifying.. but at the same time.. very exciting!!! Here are the photos~

Life Methodist Church.. the newest erected church in city!!!

The 1st scene as i arrive there... The Beach, as i recall was about a a few metres away from where i stand and took the picture.. but NOW, it's way so inward!!!

Scene of Fishermen worrying about the next day's catch... no catch... no meals...

While some kept their nets well...

The fisherman's son... looking at the way Mother nature reacts to men's greed and evilness~

I do think life as a Fishermen is not easy... Times like this, they have no stable income and they can't fish...

And so, thats where it ended... the sky turns dark and i had to go home for dinner... Thats all for now... Hope you'll tune in again...

Till then..
